Middelvlei Wine Estate

The Middelvlei Blending Experience

By producing superb quality wines, brothers Tinnie and Ben Momberg are continuing the family’s legacy of winemaking.  Become part of their winemaking team for a few hours and create your own blend! Start off with a cellar tour and tasting and familiarize yourself with the wine making process. Put your new acquired knowledge to use and with three blending components, some wood extract and a few drops of grape concentrate you can enter the intriguing world of winemaking…

While mom and dad are brushing-up on their winemaking skills the children can embark on a fun-filled alcohol free wine appreciation experience. By learning how red wine gets it colour, how one identifies between different flavours and smells and how to open a bottle of wine the children will soon understand how all five senses are utilized during wine appreciation.

The little ones can play in the sandpit, feed the farm animals or enjoy the open space on the kick bikes!

The Middelvlei Boerebraai experience

Unless one has experienced a true traditional South African braai (barbeque) one has not yet experienced South Africa! At the Middelvlei Boerebraai Restaurant our guests are invited to become part of this authentic outdoor food experience where our resident Middelvlei braai expert will be on hand to cook your boerewors, lamb chop and chicken sosatie to perfection.

Enjoy a selection of traditional dishes with your meat such as pampoenkoekies, potbrood and braaibroodjies. Our famous malva pudding will be the perfect finishing touch to your meal.

The kids can also join in the food fun and enjoy the special kiddies’ snack box, and even braai some marshmallows!
